The Town Tavern is two Northeast Ohio taverns under one kitchen: Copley at 125 Montrose W Ave and Green at 1840 Town Park Blvd in Uniontown. Both open at 11am Monday to Friday, 9am on Saturday and Sunday, and both run until 2:30am. Reserve through Toast at either room.
Everything below is the short version of choosing between the two houses. If you already know which side of Akron you are on, skip ahead: Copley sits in the Montrose corridor west of the city, Green sits on Town Park Blvd in Uniontown, south of it. The kitchen behind both is the same one, so the decision is really about the drive.
A tavern is supposed to be the place you can turn up to twice in one week for two completely different reasons, and that is what these two rooms are built to do. On a Tuesday it is a plate of Jumbo Tavern Wings and a stool at the bar. On a Friday it is the 8 oz Filet with steak butter, whipped mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus, ordered from the same book.
The kitchen's habit is to take the pub list seriously. Marrow bones get roasted until they are spoon-soft and come out as The Butcher's Gold with steak butter, arugula and crostinis. Calamari is fried and dressed with lemon truffle oil, Peppadew peppers and parmesan. Wings come traditional, boneless or as five vegan wings, and every one of them can be dropped into a dozen-plus house sauces and rubs.
Then there is the Fresh Catch board, which is the thing regulars quietly brag about at a neighborhood bar in Ohio: Faroe Island cedar plank salmon with citrus herb butter, chargrilled walleye, Creole catfish over Cajun dirty rice, and a crispy perch basket that is hand-breaded and served with tartar and a lemon. It is not a menu you expect to find behind a tavern door, which is rather the point.
The two rooms are not clones. Copley is the Montrose room, close to the retail corridor and the traffic that comes with it. Green is the Uniontown room on Town Park Blvd, and it is the one wired for delivery — Uber Eats and Grubhub both carry it. Pick by address, not by menu, because the menu follows you.
Choosing between them is rarely difficult. Copley catches the Montrose traffic and the west side of Akron; Green catches Uniontown and everything coming up from the Canton direction. Both keep the same late hours and cook from the same book, so the only real question is which drive suits the evening — and whether you want dinner brought to your door, which is something only one of the two rooms can arrange.
Each room keeps its own Toast storefront, so ordering starts by choosing a house. Copley takes reservations and online orders through its Montrose storefront and answers at (234) 466-0227. Green takes reservations and online orders through its Town Park storefront and answers at (330) 896-4433. There is no shared switchboard, which is deliberate — the person who picks up is standing in the room you are asking about.
If you would rather not leave the house at all, Green is the room to ask: it is listed on Uber Eats and on Grubhub as well as Toast. Copley's two links are reservations and online ordering. For a table on a busy night, Toast is faster than the phone at both addresses.
Both taverns keep the same clock. Monday through Friday the doors open at 11am. Saturday and Sunday they open at 9am, which is the earliest either room lights up and the reason the weekend feels longer here than it does elsewhere. Every night, both rooms run to 2:30am.
That shape means you can use the same tavern for a working lunch, an early weekend start, a full dinner and a last round, and never change address. Holidays can move, and the room you are heading to is the one that knows — call Copley or Green directly rather than assuming the hours above.
